Timologio for Shopify
Official myDATA invoicing for Shopify

Official invoices and receipts, automatically from the cart to AADE

Your customer types their AFM, the Greek tax number, in the cart. The invoice then issues on its own with MARK and QR and is transmitted to myDATA. Orders without an AFM get a retail receipt. No accounting software, and no orders typed in by hand.

What it does

Six things no other invoicing app does together

Timologio doesn't stop at collecting the AFM, and it doesn't start in the accounting office. It covers the whole path, for businesses and for consumers.

The whole path, from your customer's AFM to AADE

Your customer types their AFM in the cart. Company name, address and tax office arrive from AADE by themselves. The document issues, gets its MARK and reaches the customer by email with the PDF attached. You don't copy details, send anything by hand or open another program.

The document reaches your customer on its own

If you switch it on, the customer gets the document by email as soon as it issues, with the PDF attached and your store's name as the sender. Sending it doesn't use up another document from your package.

For businesses and for consumers

An invoice when the customer has an AFM, a retail receipt when they don't. Same store, same app. If you sell to both, you don't need two different apps.

Retail receipts on Max

The delivery note, on the same document

If you ship with a courier, the retail exemption from delivery documents doesn't cover you. Timologio adds the transport details to the invoice or receipt it is already issuing. One document, one MARK, one charge to your package, and no new numbering series to agree with your accountant.

No monthly cap from us

On Pro and Max, the plans that issue documents, the Timologio subscription sets no limit. Your documents come from the provider's yearly package, so a December with three times the orders doesn't force you to change package halfway through the month.

OSS receipts for your customers elsewhere in the EU

If you are registered in the EU OSS scheme, orders from consumers in other EU countries issue as retail receipts at 0% Greek VAT, exempt under article 57 of the Greek VAT Code, with the customer's own country VAT on a line of its own, as Shopify charged it. Same numbering series, one MARK, one charge to your package, like any receipt.

How it works

Shopify connects to myDATA in three steps, and then it runs on its own

Setup happens once and takes about half an hour. After that you do nothing per order: the document issues, gets its MARK and, if you want, goes to the customer by email by itself.

Add the block to your cart

From the theme editor, with no code. Colors and fonts follow your store.

Connect the provider

Once, with your business details. The provider account is yours.

Switch on what you want

Invoices, receipts, delivery notes, emailing the customer. Everything starts switched off, and you decide what issues and what gets sent.

What happens on every order

  1. CartThe customer types their AFM and asks for an invoice.
  2. AADEThe AFM is validated on the spot. Company name, address and tax office fill themselves in.
  3. DocumentBuilt from the Shopify order itself, with nothing typed twice.
  4. myDATAThe provider issues and transmits it. MARK, UID and QR come back.
  5. CustomerThe PDF arrives by email, sent in your store's name, if you switch it on.

Day to day, you work where you already are. On Shopify's own order page, a Timologio card shows the order's document and lets you issue it, preview it, correct the customer's details, skip it, credit it or print it. The invoices page inside the app keeps the full list, and Shopify's Print menu prints any document that has been issued.

The documents

Every document a Greek e-shop issues, from the same Shopify order

Each one goes out through the certified provider, is transmitted to myDATA and carries its own MARK. Your business is the legal issuer, under its own AFM.

Sales invoices (1.1)

For customers who give an AFM in the cart. Their company details come from AADE, and the invoice issues with MARK, UID and QR.

Pro and Max

Retail receipts (11.1)

For orders without an AFM. Issued electronically through the provider, each with its own MARK, like any other document.

Max

Credit notes

Automatic when an order is refunded in full, one click for a partial refund. An issued document is never deleted; a credit note corrects it.

Pro and Max

Delivery notes

The transport details printed on the same invoice or receipt, so one document covers both. Or a standalone delivery note (9.3) for a business customer.

Pro and Max

Receipts for consumers abroad

OSS receipts for consumers in other EU countries, with their country's VAT on its own line. Export receipts without VAT for consumers outside the EU.

Max

Intra-community invoices (1.2)

For businesses in other EU countries, without VAT, once their VAT number checks out in VIES.

The provider account is yours.Official documents are issued through Wrapp, a certified e-invoicing provider with AADE code 029 and ISO/IEC 27001 certification. The account opens in your business's name and AFM, which is why the documents are legally yours. You pay it directly to the provider, as a yearly package of documents per AFM, and it is not part of the Timologio subscription. You see the available packages and what each one includes inside the app, before you decide which one covers you. Timologio is billed through Shopify, in US dollars.

Language

Documents in Greek or English, support in both

The app's screens are in Greek, like the tax system it works with. The documents can go out in Greek or in English. You pick one language for the whole shop, or let each order follow the customer's checkout language: Greek for a Greek checkout, English for any other. The email your customer receives and the PDF attached to it follow the same choice, and so does every later copy and credit note of that document.

Write to support in Greek or English and we answer in the same language. If you would rather not do the setup alone, we do it with you, for free.

Questions

What merchants usually ask about invoicing on Shopify

How do I connect Shopify to myDATA?

Install Timologio from the Shopify App Store. It sits between your store and a certified e-invoicing provider: it reads each order from Shopify, prepares the document with the details it needs and sends it to be issued. The provider transmits it to myDATA and returns the MARK and QR. You don't export files or type orders in by hand.

Is a certified provider mandatory in Greece?

No. What the law makes mandatory is issuing invoices digitally, and a certified provider is one of the ways AADE accepts. It is the way that lets Timologio issue documents automatically from inside Shopify, with nothing typed in by hand.

The dates and who they apply to are on our Greek page about the e-invoicing declaration.

Can the documents be in English?

Yes. Documents go out in Greek or in English, set once for the whole shop or chosen per order from the customer's checkout language. The customer's email and the PDF follow the document's language.

Is the app itself in English?

The app's screens are in Greek. Support answers in Greek or English, whichever you write in, and if you want help with the setup we can do it together in either language.

What does it cost, with the provider included?

The Timologio subscription, plus the provider's yearly document package. The package is paid directly to the provider, per AFM, and its documents count per year rather than per month, so a busy season never forces you to change package mid-month. You see the available packages and their prices inside the app, along with how many documents you have used.

Do I need accounting software or an ERP?

Not to issue your documents. Timologio issues them from inside Shopify. If you already run an ERP for stock, purchasing or payroll, it keeps doing that job. For the documents you need no second program, and the data exports to CSV and XML for your accountant.

Can I try it before issuing real documents?

Yes. On test orders you see a preview of the document without anything being issued and without using a document from your package. That way you check customer details, VAT and numbering series before you switch issuing on for real orders.

Link to this answer

What happens when an order is refunded?

A full refund gets its credit note automatically. A partial refund is flagged for you, and the credit note issues with one click once you have checked it. An official document cannot be cancelled once issued; it is always corrected with a credit note.

Does it handle customers outside Greece?

Yes, each case with its own switch in the settings. An invoice to a business in another EU country issues as an intra-community 1.2 without VAT once the customer's VAT number checks out in VIES, on Pro and Max. If you are in the EU OSS scheme, consumers in other EU countries get an OSS receipt with their country's VAT on its own line, and consumers outside the EU get an export receipt without VAT, both on Max. Invoices to businesses outside the EU and IOSS are not covered yet: those orders wait in the app with a clear reason, and nothing wrong is issued.

Do I need a developer or an accountant to set it up?

No developer. Installing the app and adding the block to your cart happen inside Shopify, with no code, and if you get stuck we do it with you for free. You don't need your accountant either, though it is worth asking them about the numbering series and the starting number for each document type.
